From the Press Release issued by the Ministry of Education, Research and Religious Affairs with respect to developments in the Youth sector issue of the Erasmus+ programme (9/25/2015).

In order to allocate optimally resources and the most effective implementation of the European programme Erasmus+ 2014-2020 from one single Agency, it has been decided to transfer the implementation of the European Program Erasmus+/Youth from the Youth and Lifelong Learning Foundation to State Scholarships Foundation, in accordance to the respective Ministerial Decision.

Ι.Κ.Υ., the State Scholarships Foundation is an Agency with added experience of three consecutive decades in handling European programs for education and training (Erasmus, Lingua, Socrates Ι and ΙΙ, Lifelong Learning Programme – LLP) and since 2014 is the foundation responsible for the implementation of the rest of the Erasmus+ programme for education, training and sports.

With regards to this Ministerial Decision, the Ministry of Education, Research and Religious Affairs, as the National Authority relating to the European Program Erasmus+ is the authority charged with the coordination of the actions necessary for the transfer from the Youth and Lifelong Foundation to the State Scholarships Foundation of all programs in progress, open and pending affairs.
