Press Release
The State Scholarships Foundation (IKY) organized a Transnational Cooperation Activity (TCA) in Alexandroupolis as the National Agency for the Erasmus+ programme, welcoming 75 participants from 11 European countries, including representatives of educational organizations from other National Agencies.
The meeting, which took place from November 12 to 15, 2024, in Alexandroupolis, was entitled “The Challenges of Greening,” focusing on the environment and the fight against climate change, which is the third priority of the Erasmus+ programme.
Experts and speakers from Greece and abroad participated in the event, guiding the participants with instructions through presentations and workshops, and enriching them with ideas and best practices for implementing more sustainable and green projects within the Erasmus+ programme.
In particular, the seminar focused on project implementation, mobility, and event organization from a sustainability perspective, as well as the integration of green practices in education. Additionally, workshops were held in smaller international groups on the sustainable implementation of Erasmus+ projects, aiming to attract Erasmus+ beneficiaries (Key Action 1 – Learning Mobility and Key Action 2 – Cooperation Partnerships) from all sectors of education and training—school education (SCH), vocational education and training (VET), adult education (ADU), and higher education (HE).
As noted by Ms. Vana Sotiropoulou, Head of Unit of the Department of the European Union Programs at IKY to local media: “The green transition has been a key priority and strategy of the European Commission in recent years, and in Greece, organizations implementing Erasmus+ projects show great interest. For this reason, IKY continuously provides directions and guidance to encourage this effort.”
