The State Scholarships Foundation (IKY) is awarding excellence awards to higher education graduates since academic year 2019-2020 in implementation of Joint Ministerial Decisions a) no. 159751/Z1/ 8-12-2021: Amending Joint Ministerial Decision no. 174955/Ζ1/23-12-2020 (Government Gazette Issue no. 5716/Β’/24-12-2020) “Setting up the preconditions and the procedure for the award of an Excellence Award by the State Scholarships Foundation to higher education graduates”, (Government Gazette Issue no. 5704/B’/9-12-2021) and
- b) no. 10449/Ζ1/31-1-2024 (Government Gazette Issue no. 826/Β΄/5-2-2024) “Setting up the preconditions and the procedure for the award of an Excellence Award by the State Scholarships Foundation to HEIs graduates for academic years 2023-24, 2024-25, 2025-26”.
In particular, the award consists in a) a certificate of honor in papyrus signed by the Minister of Education and the President of IKY Administrative Board and b) a lump sum amount of one thousand EURO (€1,000).
The award is given to the student having graduated first in his/her HEI Department, on condition that the foreseen time period for the completion of the studies in the relevant HEI, including the supplementary exam period in September, has not been exceeded (four-year, five-year course of studies, etc.).
In case of graduates with same grading results, the award is given to the graduate having participated and secured the highest score in the HEI Department entrance exams.
The details of the beneficiaries and the necessary back-up documentation must be transmitted to IKY exclusively by the Presidents of the Departments of the HEI Schools or by the Secretariat of the Dean’s Office of each HEI.
