Small-scale Partnerships support cooperation projects among organisations (small-sized and newcomers to the Programme) and are also designed to widen access to the programme to people with fewer opportunities in the fields of school education, adult education, vocational education and training.

i. This action does not support projects in higher education.

The action is accessible to organisations with a smaller operational capacity, such as less experienced organisations and newcomers to the Programme, by featuring the following basic characteristics:

  • lower grant amounts
  • shorter project duration
  • simpler administrative requirements
  • flexible formats of activities.

Small-scale Partnerships can also contribute to the creation and development of transnational networks and to fostering synergies with, and between, local, regional, national and international policies.

Any public or private organisation, established in a Programme country, can participate in a Small-scale Partnership as partner.

Small-scale Partnerships are transnational and should involve minimum two organisations from two different Programme countries (the applicant organisation included).

It is noted that there is no maximum number of participating organisations in one partnership, while all participating organisations must be identified at the time of applying for a grant.

A Small-scale Partnership project can last between 6 and 24 months. The duration has to be chosen at application stage, based on the objectives of the project and on the type of activities planned over time.
