Adult learning and training form part of the priorities of the European Commission for adults.
EPALE is an initiative of the Directorate-General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture (DG EAC) of the European Commission aimed at creating a European community of adult learning.
EPALE – the Electronic Platform for Adult Learning in Europe – is a multilingual, virtual meeting space which aims at fostering adult learning and training in Europe. EPALE is open to all types of adult learning and training – formal, non-formal, informal – provided by public or private education bodies. It is a tool which supports ERASMUS+.
EPALE allows the dissemination of content relevant to adult learning, such as news, articles, blogs, resources, events and the exchange of good practices.
The day-to-day management of EPALE is ensured by a Central Support Service with the help of a network of 36 National Support Services across Europe. IKY is the National Support Service of EPALE in Greece.
You are strongly encouraged to contribute to the development of EPALE, so that we can develop a tool which meets your expectations and offers you what you really need in order to be able to follow the latest developments on the scene of adult learning in Europe.
Teachers, trainers, researchers, academics, policy-makers, volunteers, and all other adult learning and training professionals meet up in EPALE community to exchange views, seek inspiration for their daily practices and develop their networks at a European level.
