OPEN APPLICATIONS FOR THE PROGRAMME
“AWARD OF PRIZES TO GROUPS OF STUDENTS COMING FIRST OR EXCELLING IN INTERNATIONAL COMPETITIONS” – ACADEMIC YEAR 2024
The State Scholarships Foundation, in implementation of article 2 of the Joint Ministerial Decision no. 69893/Ζ1/21-06-2024 of the Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance and the Minister of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports (Government Gazette Issue 3661/Β/26-6-2024), hereby announces the implementation of a programme for the award of prizes to groups of students coming first or excelling in international competitions during academic year 2024, as follows:
Eligible to participate are groups of students from Greek Higher Education Institutions coming first or excelling in international competitions. Applications must be submitted between 1-1-2024 and 15-12-2024 (inclusive). Applications must be signed by the scientific coordinator of the group using the special application form posted on the website of IKY and sent to IKY from the Secretariat of the Department concerned.
The application must be accompanied by:
- A copy of the award of excellence.
- A certificate issued by the organiser of the competition stating the names of the group members who excelled in the competition as well as the competition venue and date. The position of the group or its members in the excellence ranking, if any, should be also stated in the certificate.
- A document describing the competition, its importance and difficulty as well as information on the excelling group.

Applications open on the date of this announcement and end on 15/12/24.
Applications submitted by the Secretariats concerned shall be examined in their entirety for benchmarking reasons by the Administrative Board of IKY in December 2024.
The prize consists in the award of a gross lump sum of 500 € per participating student. The amount is directly deposited by IKY to the bank account of the beneficiary student.
