Scholarships of the State Scholarships Foundation (I.K.Y.)

in cooperation with Fulbright Greece

The State Scholarships Foundation (I.K.Y.) in cooperation with Fulbright Greece announces the new Call of the mobility scholarships for U.S. Ph.D candidates for the academic year 2025-2026. The program aims to support and enhance the mobility of scientists and researchers between Greece and the United States, while strengthening the cooperation between Greek and U.S. universities and research centers.

For the 2025-2026 academic year, up to four (4) scholarships will be awarded to U.S. Ph.D candidates enrolled in accredited U.S. institutions of higher education. Scholars will have the opportunity to undertake a six (6) month research mobility to Greek universities or research institutions/organizations in Greece, in the context of their doctoral dissertation. The scholarships cover all scientific disciplines and include round trip travel expenses, settling-in allowance, monthly maintenance allowance and research materials allowance.

The deadline for applications for the mobility program for U.S. Ph.D candidates for the academic year 2025-2026 is 8/10/2024 at 5:00 p.m. EST and the application should be submitted online on the Fulbright website.

Announcement of the new call for U.S. Ph.D candidates (for the academic year 2025 – 2026) – Call Results for the academic year 2024-2025

Regarding the academic year 2024-2025, four (4) scholarships were awarded to U.S. Ph.D candidates. The scholars have been informed about their selection and will soon begin their research activities in Greece in the fields of Biomedical Engineering, Education, Engineering and Literature at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Panteion University and the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.

The mobility scholarships program for U.S. Ph.D candidates from U.S. universities, supported by the State Scholarships Foundation in cooperation with Fulbright Greece, is an important initiative that contributes to the mutual exchange of knowledge and the enhancement of the academic ties between the two countries.
